At Nerve we set out to create an expansion that would stay true to the original Doom 3 experience yet offer refinements to the
game play. Ressurection of Evil takes place shortly after the Doom 3 story line when a research team in another UAC facility on
Mars uncovers an alien artifact underground.
To help get the project rolling, I did a little bit of rough layout work on the Phobos missions, but otherwise they were entirely
built by the very talented: Adam Bellefeuil (www.adambellefeuil.com)
As we neared our gold master date I worked on locating local play testers for onsite tests and used the feedback gathered to perform
game-wide tuning and balance passes for the combat.
Maps can be loaded directly from the developer console of the PC-Steam version. Once the game is loaded you may toggle the console
on & off by pressing Ctrl+Alt+~ (tilde).
Doom 3: Resurrection of Evil XBox

After releasing the Doom 3 expansion we ported it to the XBox. For the design team this meant a lot of performance optimization work
and creating a control scheme that worked well on the controller.
The Erebus Complex
The Erebus Complex comprises a series of missions where the marine starts deep within an archeology site on Mars. A demonic force
is unleashed when a research team uncovers an artifact that causes the death of everyone but the marine. Each mission brings the
marine closer to the surface through levels of dirty, grungy, UAC industrial structures. Once at the surface the marine's objective
is to take this artifact to the high-tech Phobos research outpost.
The level starts with the player riding a lift out of the dig site where the artifact was uncovered. Through this mission the player encounters the first boss who awards the artifact with its first power upon defeat.

In this level the player fights phase shifting demons, solves puzzles with the use of the artifact, and finds the double barrel shotgun.

This level has the player emerging from the cavernous dig sites into cleaner, higher technology offices and research stations.

This level sees the player donning an anti-hazard suit and traveling through tunnels filled with very toxic material. And you fight Mancubus in there.

Here the player reaches the surface and is joined by a sentry bot for a while. However, before the marine can travel to the Phobos outpost he must defeat a boss and claim the second artifact power.

The goal of this mission was to bring the player back into some of the original Doom 3 spaces as Hell's influence over the entire UAC is really taking hold. Teleportation is going wild, the entire lighting and atmosphere is constantly changing as everything is going to pot. At the end of this mission the marine finally travels to hell to take on the final boss.
